Bac Giang provides vocational training, creates jobs for over 3,500 workers in disadvantaged areas
BAC GIANG- This year, Bac Giang province was allocated more than 9.8 billion VND (384,721 USD) from the National Target Programme on sustainable poverty reduction for vocational education development in poor and disadvantaged areas under the project 4 “Development of vocational education and stable employment”.
To date, the province has opened 112 classes and provided vocational training (at elementary level and below 3 months training) for over 3,500 labourers of poor, nearly poor households and those who have escaped poverty, reaching 100 percent of the set target.

Particularly, there have been 27 agricultural classes (in animal husbandry, management and use of pesticides) and 85 non-agricultural classes (in garment industry, mechanical repairs and civil electrical services).
The first districts finishing the enrolment and training plans (in October) include Luc Ngan (nearly 1,100 participants), Luc Nam (nearly 800 participants), Son Dong (600 participants) and Yen The (over 300 participants).
In order to achieve these results, the provincial Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs have collaborated with the 10 districts, town and city to grasp the demand for vocational training of the beneficiaries to revise and set appropriate targets for quantity and training majors.

Besides, the Department has promoted communication on the policies to support vocational training and guided the district-level division of labour, invalids and social affairs to work with related units and vocational training institutions to complete payment records to meet the schedule.
As a result, the rate of trained labour in 2024 is estimated at 78 percent including 34 percent of trained labour with degrees and certificates, contributing to effective implementation of the targets on sustainable poverty reduction.
