High-tech agricultural production promotes new style rural building in Bac Giang
BAC GIANG - In recent years, the agricultural sector and localities in Bac Giang province have paid attention to promoting research, transferring plant and animal varieties, advanced production processes and new technologies into production, thereby helping improve product quality and value, increase people's income and promote the movement of building new rural areas.
Thanks to active preparation to seek product output, in 2023, Chu Van Hung in Dong Cong village, Bao Son commune (Luc Nam district) boldly converted more than 5 hectares of perennial pineapple cultivation to grow Danh mountain ginseng.

Currently, the crop is more than one year old, growing well and yielding the first batch of flowers with a total output of 3 tonnes of fresh flowers. After being dried, the flower buds are packaged beautifully and expected to participate in the Once Commune One Product Programme (OCOP) in 2025.
Hung has built a water tank system with surveillance cameras to manage water resources. Recently, this model has received nearly 180 million VND from the state budget to build an automatic irrigation system and grant VietGAP certification.
Nguyen Van Cu's household in Hong Lac village, Dong Tam commune (Yen The district) expanded pig farm to 800 square meters to raise 530 heads to meet market demand.
He shared that the most important factor in farm-scale livestock farming is to ensure disease safety and environmental hygiene. Therefore, he proposed the need and received support from the Provincial Farmers' Association of nearly 640 million VND from the state budget to invest in high-tech livestock farming.
In addition to the above models, the province also has many other high-tech agricultural production models.
Statistics show that the province has more than 1,500 high-tech agricultural production models associated with product consumption linkages under the value chain.
Of which, there are more than 1,000 models in the field of cultivation, nearly 300 models in livestock, 210 models in aquaculture and 30 models in forestry.

In general, products from the models all meet VietGAP and GlobalGAP standards; have productivity and quality 2-3 times higher than traditional production; ensure food hygiene and safety.
Many farm produce are rated 3-5 star OCOP products, meeting domestic consumption and export needs (lychees, processed vegetables and forestry products among others).
In the coming time, Bac Giang province will continue effectively implementing the Resolution of the Provincial Party Standing Committee on the Agricultural Development Strategy of Bac Giang province to 2030, with a vision to 2035; in which special attention will be paid to the application and transfer of crop and livestock varieties, advanced production processes and new technologies into agricultural production to meet the goal of sustainable and modern agricultural development, contributing to increasing people's income and building a civilized and prosperous new rural area.
