Viet Yen township prioritizes resources to promote roles of digital technology task force
BAC GIANG- As defining digital transformation an inevitable trend, Viet Yen township in northern province of Bac Giang has promoted the roles of the digital technology task force in communicating and supporting local people and economic entities when performing administrative procedures and engaging in digital commerce. Thus, digital transformation process has been accelerated, contributing to boosting the local digital economy.

She was very embarrassed when being asked to take her number at the automatic numbering column because it was the first time she accessed that device.
Seeing her circumstance, one member of the digital technology task force of Quang Minh ward dedicatedly instructed her. After some minutes, Mai could take her ordinal number to perform administrative procedures.
Besides, members of the digital technology task force guided Mai and some other citizens how to shop on the e-commerce platform San24h.vn of the province with computer and smart phone.
According to the people’s committee of Viet Yen township, in order to help citizens approach and involve in digital transformation process, especially e-commerce activities, the township has paid attention to developing an IP-based broadcasting system to timely communicate to citizens about the contents of digital transformation, digitalized 35 essential public services and established 13 portals of the wards and communes, totaled some 8.6 billion VND (337,652 USD).
In addition, the Steering Committee for digital transformation of the township has compiled a set of teaching materials on 5 digital skills for schools and all-level digital technology task forces.
The township provided 4 training classes for over 770 public officials and the digital technology task forces this year, support over 300 citizens in online public services, online payment, artificial intelligence and e-commerce.
Besides, the township continues implementing the non-cash payment development plan in the locality in 2022-2025 period.
To date, 100 percent of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the township use e-invoice when cooperatives and business households pay e-tax on non-cash payment application. 80 percent of SMEs, cooperatives and business households use at least 1 digital platform in production and business.
All of the 31 OCOP products of the locality have been put on e-commerce platforms and maintained effective trading and transaction.
For effective digital transformation contributing to stimulating the local digital economy, in line with investment in digital technology infrastructure and promoting communication on digital transformation and e-commerce, the township will organise meetings with agencies and units with low scores in application of information technology to surmount difficulties, according to the leader of the people’s committee of Viet Yen township.
Besides, it will inspect 17/17 communes and wards and the one-stop-shop division of the township on implementation of the 35 necessary administrative procedures.
In order to boost digital transformation and digital economy development, in line with proactiveness of the local government, each citizen in Bac Giang province and Viet Yen township should be an entity participating in digital transformation and developing digital economy, said Nguyen Van Tuan, Vice Director of the Information Technology (IT) and Communication Center (under the Department of Information and Communication).
To that end, each individual should enrich IT skills and know how to prevent cyber fraud, protect personal information and accounts on digital platforms.
Production entities, especially OCOP owners in the locality should change business methods, actively engage in digital transformation, improve e-commerce skills and commit to product quality, thereby gaining consumers’ trust and contribute to fostering digital economy in the locality.
