Coming to heritage area in Bac Giang

(BGO) - Bac Giang has a long tradition of culture and history where is the place of origin of Truc Lam Yen Tu Zen Sect. The training course for UNESCO Programme “Memory of the World” took place in this locality.

The province is home to 2,237 relics of different types including 711 ranked relics, 3 special national relics, 101 national relics and 583 provincial ones.

It is honored to own 3 cultural heritages recognized by UNESCO including Quan Ho folk song (an intangible heritage of human being), Ca tru singing (an intangible heritage of human being in need of urgent protection) and Vinh Nghiem pagoda wood blocks (the world documentary heritage in the Memory of the World Programme in Asia-Pacific region).

So far, the province has carried out a number of solutions for preservation and promotion of the cultural heritages in the province. In addition to Vinh Nghiem pagoda wood blocks recognized by UNESCO, Bac Giang has many other precious documentary heritages such as Bo Da pagoda wood blocks, theological Epitaph of Nguyen dynasty and ordinations of the dynasties.

In his opening remark, Foreign Deputy Minister Le Hoai Trung stressed, Bac Giang is honoured to preserve such heritage in Vinh Nghiem pagoda. In recent years, Bac Giang has been dramatically developing. The sacred land of Tay Yen Tu, intangible heritages and Quan ho folk songs are long-term basis for Bac Giang province and Vietnam to develop cultural tourism. Bac Giang province is endowed with beautiful features of people, nature and culture.

The Deputy Minister believed this training course would create good opportunities for the related ministries, agencies and locals to share valuable experience and lessons in documentary heritages while strengthening cooperation with Vietnam National Committee for UNESCO to preserve and promote value of the UNESCO recognised documentary heritages contributing to sustainable socio-economic development of the local and the whole nation.

A number of presentations and opinions from the international participants and representatives of the ministries, agencies and provinces were given at the seminar creating a forum for the scholars to share their knowledge in protecting and promoting value of the documentary heritages.

Unique cultural heritages of Dao ethnic group on the western side of Yen Tu
(BGO) – The cultural heritages of the Dao ethnic group on the western side of Yen Tu Mountain Range concentrate mainly in Son Dong and Luc Nam districts of Bac Giang province. Preserving and promoting the  cultural heritage values ​​of the Dao ethnic people here in association with the development of tourism on the western side of Yen Tu is an important task that is being paid attention by local authorities and people.
Vinh Nghiem pagoda festival – enhancing cultural heritage
(BGO) – Annually on the lunar February, Vinh Nghiem pagoda in Tri Yen commune (Yen Dung district, Bac Giang province) vibrantly welcomes the festive season. The spring festival this year boasts several new features. The pagoda space is expanded with many items newly built and restored, helping connect and enhance the national intangible cultural heritage. 
Bac Giang continues promotion of cultural heritages
(BGO)- Vice Chairman of Bac Giang provincial People’s Committee Le Anh Duong hosted a meeting with a press delegation organized by the National Commission for UNESCO and the Ministry of Information and Communication on 10 September at the People’s Committee of Viet Yen district. 
Launching art show for visitors at Xuong Giang Victory Relic Site
(BGO)- The Center of Culture, Information and Sports in Bac Giang city (Bac Giang province) in August 15 launched the art show for visitors at Xuong Giang Victory Historical Relic Site.  
Promoting historical values of Xuong Giang Victory Relic Site
(BGO)- The provincial Department of Culture, Sport and Tourism (DOCST) and municipal People’s Committee of Bac Giang city (Bac Giang MPC) jointly held a talk show themed “Historical values of the Xuong Giang Victory Relic Site” on 30 July at Xuong Giang ward.
