Da Nang named by Skyscanner among best summer destinations

Updated: 17:43, 21/06/2023
Travel website Skyscanner has named Da Nang as one of the most ideal destinations to visit in August, citing its famous beaches, soft golden sands and crystal clear waters.

Noting that by August, everyone is looking for the perfect place to go on holiday, Skyscanner suggested looking to northern Europe and the southern hemisphere, where temperatures are a little cooler and the tourist crowds are thinner.

Ranking third in the list, Da Nang is rated by Skyscanner as one of Vietnam’s best beach destinations.

According to the travel website, Da Nang and the rest of central Vietnam remain dry and sunny during August, while temperatures tend to sit between 24°C to 34°C, perfect for lazy days on the beach or mornings exploring the nearby attractions.

The Vietnamese city is famous for its beaches, soft golden sands, crystal clear waters and lots of chances to enjoy water sports, said Skyscanner, adding that My Khe and Non Nuoc beaches are perfect for swimming with their calm waves.

Tourists can enjoy other activities in Da Nang, such as exploring natural caves, Buddhist temples and Hindu grottoes in nearby areas, as well as stopping and watching the sunset.

Skyscanner also recommended visiting the perfectly preserved ancient town of Hoi An, which is just one hour away from Da Nang by car, or heading north to the imperial city of Hue for a visit to a citadel that was once home to Vietnam’s last dynasty.

Other destinations in the list include Bornholm (Denmark), Ljubljana (Slovenia), Seattle (US), Gdańsk (Poland), Maasai Mara (Kenya), Madeira (Portugal), Colombo (Sri Lanka) and Turin (Italy).
