Dong Ho folk paintings exhibition to open

An exhibition of Dong Ho folk paintings will take place in Hanoi and the northern province of Bac Ninh from October 31 to November 2.
Over 100 paintings, including restored and new creations by contemporary artisans, will feature popular images such as a brood of chickens, a herd of pigs that symbolise prosperity, a chubby child, or national heroes, among others.

On November 1, an international seminar discussing the protection and upholding of Dong Ho folk paintings in contemporary life will also be held in Bac Ninh.
The event will afford domestic and foreign artisans and experts a chance to share experience in preserving the craft of folk paintings as well as intangible cultural heritage values.

Lotus paintings at Noi Bai airport win gold at international design contest
Two lotus paintings by painter Nguyen Thu Thuy at Hanoi’s Noi Bai International Airport have won the gold medal in the Social Design category at the A’Design Award and Competition 2019 in Italy.
