Rivaldo's Brazil earn thrashing win over Vietnamese stars

Brazilian players who won the World Cup in 1994 and 2002 beat Vietnamese stars 7-1 in a friendly match in Da Nang Saturday night.

The friendly match was held in Hoa Xuan Stadium as one of the activities to celebrate 35 years of diplomatic relations between Brazil and Vietnam.

Vietnamese team have Huynh Duc who won Vietnamese Golden Ball three times in 1995, 1997, 2002, Hong Son who won the honor in 1998 and 2001, and Cong Vinh who won the Golden Ball in 2004, 2006, 2007 before claiming the AFF championship with Vietnam in 2008.

Huynh Duc (L), now coach of Binh Duong football club and one of the top scorers of this time, scored Vietnam's only goal in the 33rd minute.

Brazil put early pressure against Vietnam and often created relevant chances that threatened the hosts' goal.

Vietnam's strong defense line made many crucial saves.

The Brazilian players will have a friendly match with Hanoi Police club on Monday.
