Bac Giang continues expanding GlobalGAP and organic lychee areas
Accordingly, the whole province maintains 29,700 hectares of lychees, including 7,500 hectares of early ripening lychees and remaining of main season lychees.

Particularly, in the coming lychee season, Bac Giang province focuses on taking care of lychees in line with VietGAP and GlobalGAP processes, maintaining 30 hectares of GlobalGAP lychee, striving to grant 15 new hectares so as to have 45 hectares of Global GAP lychees while directing and licensing the model of organic lychee production on 10 hectares in Luc Ngan district.
Regarding lychee production for export, the province plans to maintain 130 growing area codes approved by China covering 16,200 hectares in Luc Ngan, Luc Nam, Yen The, Tan Yen, Son Dong districts; 55 growing area codes for the United States, Australia, Japan, EU... ; expand growing areas to ensure export standards to EU, New Zealand, Canada, Singapore...
Currently, the DARD has accelerated to work with units under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to update export standards and conditions to some demanding markets; establish a production steering group associated with lychee consumption; guide and supervise lychee growers to produce fruits with high quantity and quality as well as ensure food safety and hygiene to meet the requirements of domestic and export markets.
Bac Giang had quite successful lychee crop in 2023 with total lychee output of over 201,000 tonnes (an increase of more than 2,100 tonnes compared to 2022) and total revenue from lychees and ancillary services of over 6,876 billion VND (about 296 million USD) (the highest ever value with an increase of more than 91 billion VND compared to 2022).
