Bac Giang opens exhibition to mark 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory
BAC GIANG- The Bac Giang provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism (DOCST) opened an exhibition at the provincial Museum on April 22 to mark the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory (7 May 1954-2024).
In his opening remark, DOCST Vice Director Nguyen Si Cam stressed Dien Bien Phu Victory is one of the greatest victories of Vietnamese soldiers and people in the resistance war against French colonists.

The exhibition is aimed to widely communicate to people of all strata and educate young generation about the glorious history of the nation.
At this event, the delegates attended a ribbon-cutting ceremony and visited the exhibition corners displaying photos, materials, artifacts, books, newspaper and documents themed “70 years of Dien Bien Phu Victory- the power of Vietnam and the stature of the era” and “Dien Bien Phu Victory- golden pages in Vietnam’s history”.

Nearly 300 valuable images, documents, artifacts and books about Dien Bien Phu Victory and contributions of Bac Giang soldiers and people during the resistance war against French colonist and Dien Bien Phu campaign are displayed at the exhibition.
The exhibition will take place until May 10. On this occasion, the provincial Museum will show a documentary movie about Dien Bien Phu campaign on the screen system at the exhibition area to serve visitors.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended a meeting in the northern province of Dien Bien on April 17 with veteran soldiers, young volunteers and frontline workers who directly participated in the Dien Bien Phu Campaign in 1954.
BAC GIANG - On April 16, The Standing Vice Chairman of the Bac Giang Provincial People's Committee (PPC) Mai Son led a delegation to visit and present gift to some families of outstanding veterans and former youth volunteers joining Dien Bien Phu Campaign in Hiep Hoa district.
BAC GIANG- A working delegation of the provincial Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee and Fatherland Front Committee led by Tran Cong Thang, member of the provincial Party Committee’ Standing Committee and Chairman of the provincial Fatherland Front Committee on April 15 visited and presented gifts to families of some outstanding former soldiers and youth volunteers in Bac Giang city who joined in Dien Bien Phu Campaign.
The Dien Bien Phu Victory is a symbol of the national liberation movement of oppressed and colonialised peoples worldwide, said Prof. Ezequiel Ramoneda, Coordinator of the Centre for Southeast Asian Studies (CESEA) at the Institute of International Relations of the National University of La Plata of Argentina (UNLP).
Italy’s L’Unione Sarda news website ran an article honouring the braveness of Vietnam through the Dien Bien Phu Victory 70 years ago.
