Updated: 15:29, 26/04/2023
(BGO) - In order to strengthen the promotion of agricultural products in Luc Ngan district, Bac Giang province, a unique tour of orchards and traditional craft villages has been officially launched.

Visiting famous noodle village

Launched by SGO Travel, the tour takes tourists to Bac Giang - the largest fruit granary in the North, and also to the famous Thu Duong Chu noodle village in Nam Duong commune, Luc Ngan district.

Tourists contemplate the scenery of the lake, which is surrounded by a just-fruited lychee garden.

At the craft village, visitors can directly participate in all processes from grinding flour, coating, drying and cutting rice papers and then packing the noodles. In particular, they can also enjoy Chu noodles with many versions from wet noodles to dry noodles, or rice papers.

Nguyen Van Nam, Acting Chairman of the Luc Ngan Chu Noodle Association and head of Thu Duong village, said that the craft of making Chu noodles has existed for about 100 years. Previously, the stages of making noodles were entirely manual. From 2005 onwards, the craft village cooperative’s members have joined hands in building brand, and used machines in production.

As the craft village is located on the main road, this tour has been combined with spiritual tours of Tay Yen Tu and historical sites in the province in recent years.

In Quy Son commune, visitors have great experiences at Bau Tien eco-tourism area of the Dong Giao Cooperative. They are immersed in a large space of more than 200 hectares covered by lychee, orange and many other fruit trees. Standing at the foot of the hill, visitors seem to go deep into the endless green space of the trees, and enjoy a fresh and peaceful atmosphere around the lake.

Phung Quang Thang, President of the Hanoi Travel Association and Vice Chairman of SGO Travel, said that Vietnam has strengths in rural tourism. In particular, Bac Giang is a land that is likened to "the fence of the capital". The province witnessed many struggles in history to gain national independence and protect territorial sovereignty so it is home to many historical and cultural relic sites. In addition, Bac Giang is also famous for growing fruit trees, especially in Luc Ngan district. When mentioning Luc Ngan, people think of lychee, but in fact, there are many other fruit trees in the four seasons in the district.

As a fruit granary of the North, local people have been attached to farming for a long time. The rich culture, the daily lives of locals, living space, routines, cuisine, customs and spiritual activities all create distinctive characteristics of Bac Giang, facilitating its development of tourism, especially rural tourism.

In particular, Bac Giang has many large lakes such as Cam Son, Khuong Than and Bau Lay, creating beautiful natural landscapes serving the development of lake tourism.

The interesting thing is that these green orchards are interspersed with natural freshwater lakes, creating a poetic natural landscape, fresh air and peace. In addition, the trails in the fruit tree forest are suitable for sports activities such as trekking and cycling. Tourists can also join activities in the lake such as pedalo riding, kayaking and fishing.

"Currently, Bac Giang sees limited connectivity between districts, and experience tours are mainly day tours. There are no overnight tours or routes. For this reason, SGO Travel has developed two overnight experience tours, including the tour "Following the footsteps of the King-Monk" and the tour of craft villages and orchards", said Thang.
