At the meeting, representative of Lang Giang district reported on preparation for organizing activities in response to the Culture and Tourism Week. The people’s committee of the district directed the communes and towns to hold the festivals such as Can Tram- Ho Cat- Xuong Giang festival, Bung festival in Tan Thanh commune, Quat Lam festival in Dai Lam commune and Dinh Son temple festival in My Ha commune from the 5th to 19th day of lunar January with various activities.

In 2017, the people’s committee of the district made a planning of building the tourism site of the Da huong tree (camphor tree) enclosed with the communal house and pagoda in Tien Luc commune on an area of 13.45 hectares.

Based on the approved planning, the district’s people’s committee built the Scheme “developing the tourism site of 1000-year old Da huong tree enclosed with the communal house and pagoda in Tien Luc commune” with estimated fund of 249.3 billion VND (10.7 million USD).

The project of preserving Da huong tree has been completed with total fund of 1 billion VND (43,094 USD).

Tien Luc festival will be held by the people’s committee of the district in 2020 during 3 days from 18 to 20 lunar March. The festival of Co Be Chi Miu temple in Huong Son commune will be organized for the first time on 14th of lunar January 2020.

Based on the opinions of from related units of the Department of Culture, Sport and Tourism and recommendations of the local, the provincial Vice Chairman Le Anh Duong requested the people’s committee of Lang Giang district to pay special attention to promoting values of Da huong tree because it is a significant provincial relic in need of promotion and advertising.

Besides, they are required to revise the construction plan and planning of the tourism complex. In next 5 years, the people’s committee of Lang giang district needs to complete the infrastructure and expand the surrounding area of the ancient tree enclosed with the communal houses and pagodas to create a large space for festival.

The provincial Vice Chairman Le Anh Duong concludes the meeting.

In addition, it is essential to research and compile materials to introduce this precious tree to mass of people.

It is necessary to pay attention to training the tourist guides from district to grassroots level.

The ceremony of Tien Luc festival needs improving while recovering unique and special folk games. For Co Be (Little Girl) festival, it is required to conduct further research on folk culture and tradition of the ethnic minorities to attract tourists.

Besides, it is important to build infrastructure like traffic road and parking areas.
