Bac Giang rolls out red carpet to welcome high-quality workers
BAC GIANG – For over the past ten years, Bac Giang has emerged as a safe, potential and attractive investment destination for businesses, especially multinational corporations with modern technology. With the goal of becoming one of the country's semiconductor and artificial intelligence (AI) industrial production centers by 2030, the province has offered many policies to attract high-quality human resources.
In a study on the development of Bac Giang's semiconductor industry, Dr. Chu Phuong Quynh and colleagues from the Institute of World Economics and Politics (Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences) affirmed that the province has many potentials and advantages while the investors highly appreciate the open business environment and the dynamism of the local government.

Therefore, Bac Giang has the attractiveness that makes technology "giants" such as Hana Micron, Si Flex, Foxconn, Luxshare, JA Solar... come to "nest".
In particular, Hana Micron Vina Co., Ltd. (Korea) in Van Trung Industrial Park is the first semiconductor manufacturing enterprise in Vietnam, participating in the global supply chain, with very high requirements for technology, investment capital and human resources.
Besides the challenge of further improving infrastructure, promoting international cooperation and improving the business environment, a high-quality labor source for enterprises is an urgent requirement that needs timely attention, the study pointed.
Currently, the province has 9,500 operating enterprises, creating jobs for about 306,000 workers, of which the majority are unskilled workers (nearly 80%). In the next 5 years, Bac Giang will recruit about 6,000 people with college degrees or higher who are fluent in foreign languages each year.
According to statistics from the Provincial Employment Service Center, the electronic component manufacturing factories like Foxconn, New Wing Interconnect Technology, Luxshare- ICT... recruited from 3,000 to 5,000 people in the last months of the year, but they required 40% of skilled or trained workers.
Bac Giang is one of the industrial hubs of the region, attracting FDI in the top localities of the country, but "supply does not meet demand" in terms of human resources, forcing many enterprises to "import" experts and workers from abroad and pay huge costs.
Nguyen Manh Chien, Head of Human Resources Department, Hana Micron Vina Co., Ltd., said that one of the obstacles of the company is the scarcity of human resources to meet the demand for production expansion.
Unlike other companies, the entire production line is automatic and the most advanced, so the operation and manipulation must be precise while and the equipment must be read and understood.
The company has coordinated with some educational facilities in Bac Giang such as the Vietnam - Korean College of Technology to train human resources and also made a plan to cooperate with the Industrial Technical College to gradually fill this "gap".
Many enterprises and schools have joined hands to train workers according to occupations, orders and recruitment addresses in many flexible ways.
In 2024, Bac Giang also established working groups to 8 provinces, including Lang Son, Cao Bang, Hoa Binh, Son La, Bac Kan, Lao Cai, Yen Bai and Ha Giang to promote attracting workers to Bac Giang; organized work, connected with Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Hanoi University of Industry, Thai Nguyen University of Technology in training cooperation, support and guidance on internships, and recruitment of high-quality human resources for enterprises in the province.
Currently, Bac Giang has attracted more than 60,000 laborers from other provinces, 9,300 of whom are foreign workers, experts, and engineers attached to enterprises and the land of Bac Giang.

The destination for human resources in Bac Giang is wide open. With the goal of becoming the industrial center of the region, focusing on semiconductor and AI production of the whole country, the province continues to implement synchronous solutions to attract human resources in general and high-quality laborers.
Along with training, fostering, "rolling out the red carpet" to recruit and retain talents, the province focuses on creating the best living and working environment, prioritizing resources to build social housing for workers, cultural institutions, medical facilities, education in industrial parks and clusters, replicating the "safe boarding house" model, improving the quality of life of workers, creating a stable development environment for the next generation of workers' children.
These are fundamental and long-term solutions for Bac Giang to maintain as attractive destination, better attract high-quality labor for industry in particular and sustainable socio-economic development.
