Bac Giang urgently removes obstacles and speeds up progress of social housing projects
BAC GIANG - Chairman of the Bac Giang Provincial People's Committee (PPC) Nguyen Viet Oanh on April 3 chaired a meeting with investors to review the progress of social housing projects.
Since 2021, the province has implemented 14 social housing projects (including 11 projects for workers and 3 projects for low-income people).

The total land use scale is more than 60.5 hectares with the total investment of nearly 19.8 trillion VND (850 million USD) to build about 29,000 apartments, reported the Department of Construction.
To date, 2 projects have been fully completed and 1 project has completed housing works with a total of nearly 5,100 apartments while the remaining 12 projects are under implementation.
At the meeting, investors raised difficulties and obstacles in the implementation of social housing projects in the area. The main obstacles were in site clearance, affecting the progress of implementation.
At the meeting, PPC Vice Chairman Pham Van Thinh requested investors to promptly report any difficulties in the project implementation process; closely coordinate with the PPC, departments, branches and localities in implementing each part and stage of work to further accelerate the progress of each project so as to ensure the completion of the goals and targets assigned by the Prime Minister to the province in 2025 and 2026-2030 period.
Concluding the meeting, PPC Chairman Nguyen Viet Oanh emphasized that the implementation of the social housing project in Bac Giang has been highly appreciated by the Central Government. The quality of the housing projects ensures good service for the lives of workers and low-income people.
However, the difficulties and obstacles raised by investors show that the capacity of investors is very important, deciding the progress of the project. Therefore, the provincial leader assigned the Department of Construction to preside over, regularly monitor, closely follow and urge project investors to have monthly reports that clearly state each obstacle, find specific causes to promptly propose to relevant sectors and competent authorities to resolve them soon.
Also he requested the Department of Agriculture and Environment to closely coordinate with districts with social housing construction projects to resolve obstacles in the process of site clearance, speed up the progress of land allocation to investors.
He directed departments and branches to strictly carry out the appraisal and selection of qualified investors; resolutely request investors to speed up the progress of projects that have been allocated land; calculate the recovery plan for projects that have been allocated land with delayed progress.
With a high determination to achieve the goal of completing 75,000 social housing units by 2030 assigned by the Prime Minister, the PPC Chairman urged departments, branches and localities to study solutions for site clearance of projects first then organize bidding or appoint contractors to select investors with sufficient capacity to implement.
