Bac Giang earns nearly 12.8 million USD from fisheries

BAC GIANG – Bac Giang province now has more than 12,000 hectares of water surface for aquaculture, including nearly 4,500 hectares for  ​​intensive and semi-intensive farming, reported local competent agencies.

This year, thanks to due instruction from functional agencies and localities in caring and disease prevention, the aquatic species are well grown and give stable productivity.

The province harvested about 7,450 tonnes of fisheries in the first 2 months of the year, equivalent to the same period last year. The districts with high output included Tan Yen (more than 1,500 tonnes), Luc Nam (more than 1,200 tonnes), Lang Giang and Yen Dung (more than 1,000 tonnes for each).

This year, local fisheries are well consumed, many traders from Lang Son, Cao Bang, Hai Phong and Quang Ninh provinces directly come to Bac Giang to buy the products. With average selling price of 40,000 VND per kg, the province has earned nearly 300 billion VND from fisheries production.
