Flourishing advanced new-style rural communes

BAC GIANG- The movement of building advanced new-style rural areas in the province has made comprehensive changes of the rural panorama creating worth-living countryside. Thus, the face of rural areas has been flourished in all aspects when the people’s living has been ceaselessly improved.

Coming to Xuong Lam commune in Lang Giang district in April, we could see dramatic changes from building advanced new-style rural areas. Wide roads with green trees, blossom flowers, eye-catching bonsai, new houses and improved cultural and sports facilities show us a robust development of this countryside.

The communal house in Tan Thiep village, Xuong Lam commune, Lang Giang district has been newly constructed.

In order to reach the criteria for advanced-new style rural area, 7 village cultural houses were built in the commune in 2023 valued from 1 to 1.5 billion VND (39,400 to 59,140 USD).

Besides, the commune constructed nearly 5km of traffic road from 7.5m wide and concreted 3 field roads (with total 1.3km length and 4m wide surface).

The commune also completed 4km of electricity system using solar energy. The total fund for these projects were some 60 billion VND (2.4 million USD) including 4.5 billion VND and over 10,000 square metre of land donated by local people to broaden the roads and projects in line with thousands of their work days.

Similarly, there have been great changes in other advanced new-style rural communes such as Thai Dao and Dao My (in Lang Giang district), Dong Viet (in Yen Dung district), Lam Cot, Ngoc Van and Ngoc Ly (in Tan Yen district) and My An (in Luc Ngan district), which are forming worth-living countryside.

Particularly, the rural infrastructure, traffic and irrigation systems, electricity supply, roads, schools, stations and cultural houses have been paid arduous attention with synchronous development. The rural landscapes and environment have been improved while farm production has been dramatically shifted towards concentrated commodity production.

The above results laid a solid foundation for Bac Giang to reap more achievements in the next steps, deserving to be among provinces in northern mountainous region in building new-style rural areas in Vietnam.

Building new-style area is a comprehensive development programme, which covers many sectors including economy, culture, environment, security and order. Of which, upgrading a normal new-style rural commune into an advanced one is a qualitative development.

To date, Bac Giang province has 59 advanced new-style rural communes (accounting for 32.4 percent of the total communes). Yen Dung, Tan Yen, Lang Giang and Viet Yen districts are the localities with the largest number of advanced new-style rural communes.

According to the provincial office for new-style rural areas building coordination, the province strives to have 11 more advanced new-style rural communes in 2024.

The school facilities at the advanced new-style commune of Ngoc Van have been improved.

In order to implement the programme on building new-style rural areas, apart from the provincial budget, the districts and township will support from 500 million to 3 billion VND (19,700 to 118,300 USD) for each commune and support each village 50 to 200 million VND (1,970 to 7,890 USD) to build advanced new-style rural areas.

In coming time, it is necessary to check the facts in the communes striving to become advanced new-style rural communes in 2024 according to the set of criteria for advanced new-style rural communes in the 2021-2025 period, then make detailed plan for implementation roadmap, seek solutions and assign tasks for related agencies and units.

Meanwhile, the communes meeting standards for advanced new-style rural areas need to make continuous efforts to become model new-style rural communes.
