These will be replaced with new devices featuring equivalent technical specifications — including main transformers, battery systems, rectifier cabinets and protective relays among others.
The total investment for these upgrades exceeds 10.7 billion VND (464,739 USD), funded by the Northern Power Corporation’s major repair budget. The construction is scheduled to begin in June and expected to be completed by August this year.
Currently, Bac Giang province operates twenty 110 kV substations, which are responsible for transmitting and distributing electricity from the national grid to the entire province.
These substations were constructed across different periods, following varying design structures. After years of operation, a significant number of devices have degraded, no longer ensuring safe and reliable service.
Upon completion, the upgraded substations will improve the stability and quality of electricity supply, reduce energy loss and contribute to the province’s socio-economic development while meeting the growing electricity demands of local households.
