Ha Long International Cruise Port reopens following Typhoon Yagi

Updated: 14:10, 13/09/2024

Ha Long International Cruise Port in Quang Ninh Province has reopened to international visitors after a period of disruption caused by Typhoon No.3 (Yagi).

Nearly 1,000 tourists from China, the Republic of Korea (RoK), and other countries have travelled from Hanoi to Ha Long City as per their pre-determined schedules.

Ha Long Bay is a must-visit for international tourists when coming to Vietnam.

Pham Van Hiep, Director of Ha Long International Cruise Port, reported that immediately after the typhoon, repairs were made to the damaged infrastructure and fallen or damaged trees were cleared. The port also focused on inspecting and maintaining the equipment and machinery.

As of now, some docks are operating normally and ensuring safety during operations. Many tourist boats have now returned to dock at the Ha Long International Cruise Port after temporarily relocating to avoid the storm.

On September 10 alone, Ha Long International Cruise Port saw nearly 1,560 tourists boarding ships to visit Ha Long Bay, with the same number returning to shore that day.
