Currently, there are around 9,500 businesses operating in the province, employing over 306,000 workers. To retain and attract them, and to build a stable and sustainable workforce that meets the needs of industrial development, improving welfares for workers is crucial.

At present, to fulfill the goal of expanding production and keeping up with year-end orders, Newwing Interconnect Technology Co., Ltd. (Bac Giang), located in the Van Trung Industrial Park (IP), is looking to recruit over 12,000 workers.

The company has relaxed its age requirements, now accepting workers aged 18-39 (previously 35 at maximum). The average monthly income now reaches VND10 million (400 USD).

Luxshare-ICT (Vietnam) in the Quang Chau Industrial Park allocates land for cultural and sports activities for workers.

Currently, businesses in the province provide 30,000 housing units for workers and 147,000 rental rooms in localities. Investors are implementing nine social housing projects, adding over 12,400 apartments.

Despite these efforts, workers, especially those from other provinces, still face significant housing challenges.

Nguyen Viet Phong, Director of the provincial Department of Construction, said that under the social housing development plan for workers in Bac Giang province by 2025, with orientations to 2030, approved by the provincial People's Committee in August 2023, currently 19 social housing sites for workers are under development.

These sites will be equipped with essential facilities such as childcare centers, medical clinics, public services, green spaces, and sports facilities.

Bac Giang is focusing on attracting investment and developing its industrial sector. The workforce has already surpassed 300,000 people and is expected to increase in the coming years.

To ensure the healthy development of the labour market and meet the needs of businesses, local authorities will further strengthen labour management and related fields.

Key priorities include improving labour market forecasting and trends analysis, considering integration factors to advise the provincial Party Committee and People's Committee on appropriate policies for vocational education and labour attraction.

The province also plans to continue prioritizing resources and mobilizing social investment to develop infrastructure around IPs, including housing, schools, hospitals, commercial services, cultural, sports and entertainment facilities, in order to meet essential needs and ensure a safe, secure living environment for workers.

Local authorities will increase inspections and guidance for businesses to strictly comply with labour laws and improve employee welfare. It is also important to handle violations seriously, especially regarding delays in social insurance payments for workers.

Trade unions at all levels are playing a key role in protecting workers' legitimate rights and interests. They are working to monitor the implementation of labour laws, promote dissemination of legal regulations so that workers can actively protect their rights.

Furthermore, the focus is on creating a safe working environment, and fostering harmonious, stable, and progressive labour relations for mutual development.
