International defense expo in Hanoi showcases world's weaponries
Several missiles and launch pads under the Vietnamese People's Army, as well as foreign weaponries, will be introduced at the Vietnam International Defense Expo 2024.

The R-17E ballistic missile is one of the most common missiles of the Soviet Union, with 7,000 missiles created. Vietnam is the only Southeast Asian country to possess this missile, with dozens of them being supplied from the Soviet Union in 1981, according to the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI). The R-17E has a firing speed at 4,940 kph and a firing range of 300 km. It is often used to attack stationary, unprotected targets. The Vietnam International Defense Expo 2024 take place from Dec. 19 to 22 at the Gia Lam airport in Hanoi. People can visit the expo for free from 9 a.m. Dec. 21 to 22. |
