Localities greet first tourists on first day of Lunar New Year
On January 29, the first day of Lunar New Year 2025, the Silver Dawn cruise ship docked at Ha Long International Passenger Port, bringing nearly 600 international tourists to Quang Ninh Province.
Upon arrival, the tourists, mostly from Europe and America, were welcomed with traditional ceremonies, including lively lion dance performances.

Pham Duc An, Chairman of the Quang Ninh Provincial People's Committee, and leaders of the provincial Tourism Department presented flowers and New Year greetings to the foreign tourists.
According to Nguyen Huyen Anh, Director of the Provincial Department of Tourism, Quang Ninh Province targets to attract 20 million visitors in 2025, including 4.5 million foreigners, hoping to earn tourism revenue of around 55 trillion VND.
On the same day, Vinh Long Province held a ceremony to welcome its first international tourists in the Year of the Snake.
At the welcome ceremony, the local authorities presented flowers and gifts to the visitors.
In 2024, Vinh Long Province received nearly 2 million visitors, marking a year-on-year increase of nearly 25%, with over 50,000 international tourists, and total estimated tourism revenue of 991.2 billion VND, up 39% against 2023.
January 29 also saw the arrival of the Celebrity Solstice cruise ship at Chan May Port in Hue City, bringing over 3,000 international tourists, who are set to explore popular destinations in Da Nang, Hoi An, and Hue.
