Vice Chairman of provincial People's Committee receives CEO of China’s Pacific Construction Group
BAC GIANG - Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Pham Van Thinh hosted a reception for Wo Jing, CEO of Pacific Construction Group (China) in Bac Giang city on March 18.
At the meeting, Thinh briefed his guest on the province's notable achievements in socio-economic development. Bac Giang holds a strategic position within the Capital Region, with convenient connections to Hanoi, Hai Phong, Quang Ninh of Vietnam, and China through highways, railways, and waterways.

The province boasts a large land area, abundant human resources, and attractive investment policies, positioning it as one of the leading industrial development hubs in the region.
In recent years, Bac Giang has maintained the top position for economic growth in the country, with a growth rate of 13.85% in 2024. The province aims for an annual economic expansion of nearly 14% this year and 15% for the 2026-2030 period.
Thinh noted that foreign direct investment in the province has surpassed $12 billion, with Chinese enterprises making up the largest share. To further attract FDI in the coming period, Bac Giang is focusing on developing its infrastructure, particularly in transportation and urban areas.

The province hopes that Pacific Construction Group will provide advice for Bac Giang on the development of an urban railway network to connect with the Hanoi urban railway system and other important rail, road, air, and water routes, he said.
Additionally, the province seeks the group's support in planning and developing modern eco-friendly urban areas to drive sustainable development, as well as in improving the transportation infrastructure system, thus attracting investment and boosting economic growth, he added.
For her part, Wu congratulated the province on its remarkable socio-economic development achievements, particularly its economic growth.
Pacific Construction Group ranks among the top 500 largest companies globally. The group established its representative office in Vietnam in April 2019 and founded Pacific Construction Vietnam LLC in September 2019, with a charter capital of 500 million USD.

The group and the Hanoi People's Committee have signed a cooperation agreement to invest in infrastructure, including the construction of the Tu Lien Bridge and the road from Tu Lien Bridge to the Hanoi - Thai Nguyen Expressway, with construction expected to begin in May this year. The next project will be the construction of Hanoi’s urban rail line No. 5, from Van Cao to Hoa Lac.
In response to the proposals from Bac Giang, Wu stated that her group would support the province in completing its transportation infrastructure system. The group looks forward to long-term cooperation with the province to implement many transportation and urban projects in the near future.
