Japanese delegation visits Luc Ngan lychee area
The delegation worked with district leaders, visited some garden houses in Quy Son commune, discussed production processes and learnt about operations at some packaging facilities.

Luc Ngan lychee is the first Vietnamese product to receive GI protection in Japan. This content is part of the project "Support for GI protection registration in Japan for 3 Vietnamese products" chaired by the National Office of Intellectual Property of Vietnam (Ministry of Science and Technology).
According to Japanese law, after successfully protecting geographical indication, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of Japan (MAFF) has the right to request the collective of producers or related persons to report on the status of activities or allow MAFF officers to come to headquarters, offices, warehouses, production areas, factories... to inspect.
The test results will be the basis for Japan to evaluate the protection of foreign agricultural products.
