The goal is to invest in science and technology, knowledge economy and digital transformation to become a major contributing factor to growth. By attaching importance to the application of science, technology and innovation, in recent years, the provincial socio-economic situation has developed strongly and synchronously in all fields.

In the industrial sector, many businesses have applied technology to first ever create high-tech products in Bac Giang such as: Apple Watch products, drones, some electronic products, computers and accessories, optical products, solar panel among others...

These products are all competitive in the international market and account for a large proportion of the product structure which promote local industrial development towards high-tech industry.

In agricultural production, the province pays due attention to applying science and technology to develop many key and typical agricultural products. Currently, Bac Giang has built more than 760 hi-tech agricultural production models; formed a number of concentrated, large-scale production areas with high technology application to create value chains such as: Yen The hill chicken farming area, Tan Yen clean pig raising and consumption area, national key fruit tree growing area with a scale of nearly 50,000 hectares.

Among them, Luc Ngan district is the core with key products of lychee, oranges, grapefruit, guava, apples...

Bac Giang is also one of the top localities in the country in terms of intellectual property rights protection for key, potential and typical products of the province.

Especially in March 2024, the Ministry of Science and Technology announced the Provincial innovation index for 2023, Bac Giang province ranked 11 out of 63 provinces and cities in the country. This result further affirmed the due attention of the province to the application of science, technology and innovation in socio-economic life.

Science, technology development and innovation are not only the government's task but also requires close coordination from the private economic sector. Therefore, the province attaches great importance and creates favorable conditions for the application of science and technology in this area so as to develop science and technology enterprises, promote available skills and dynamism and spread the science and technology factor throughout the society.

In fact, in recent times, Bac Giang province has been the destination for a series of large technology enterprises.

To keep fast, comprehensive and sustainable development, Bac Giang province determines to further promote innovation and constantly apply science and technology to socio-economic life.

Accordingly, the Department of Science and Technology will proactively advise the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council and People's Committee to develop and implement the Science and Technology Development Plan integrated into Bac Giang Provincial Planning for the period 2021- 2030 with the vision to 2050.

The province targets to enhance public-private cooperation in implementing science and technology tasks; strengthen links between science and technology organizations and businesses as well as research and application with training facilities inside and outside the province to promote research, application, transfer, technology innovation and human resource training.

Besides, local authority continues to support the establishment and improve the operational efficiency of science and technology enterprises and innovative startups; assist enterprises to apply advanced management systems, tools and models of modern management methods to improve productivity and quality of products and goods.

Competent agencies continue improving the capacity and efficiency of the state management apparatus for science and technology; strengthen the system of science and technology councils at all levels.

At the same time, the Department of Science and Technology recommends the People's Council and Provincial People's Committee to pay more attention to investing funds from the state budget for science and technology activities per roadmap from now to 2025.

Along with the provincial budget, localities proactively allocate funds from local budget revenue for science and technology activities in the area; promote socialization and mobilize all resources, especially those of businesses investing in science and technology development.
