The Vice Chairman of the Bac Giang provincial People’s Committee Le Anh Duong presents gifts to the difficult households in Luong hamlet, Vinh Khuong commune, Song Dong district.

According to the report of the Ethnic Minority Board and the People’s Committee in Son Dong district, these two communes are the special difficult localities. Thanks to the recent supports from all authority levels as well as the residents’ great efforts, the communal socio-economies have been positively changed and the living condition has been gradually improved.

The rate of the poor household in 2017 was 45.8 percent in Vinh Khuong commune, reducing 4.8 percent; 48.12 percent in Cam Dan commune, down 5.1 percent comparing to last year figure. Additionally, the infrastructure has been step by step upgraded; the fruitful results were achieved in terms of education, healthcare while the social order was secured.

Besides, the campaigns, the project No. 30a and 135 and new-style rural area building among others have been implemented efficiently on schedule. The typical programmes included canal concretization, construction of the road, clean water system and cultural house.

However, there remained a few of shortcomings in these two communes such as high rate of poor households, conflict in forestry land, forest fire and backward customs. 

Addressing at the visited locations, Vice Chairman Duong spoke highly the recent achievements of Vinh Khuong and Cam Dan communes. He urged the local authorities to pay due attention to developing the economy, improving the locals’ life, quickly and sustainably reducing the poverty.

The outstanding economic models should be evaluated for multiplying on the occasion of yearend while effectively using the loan and investment. The Vice Chairman instructed to focus on building the new style rural areas, reinforce the cultural life and preserve the unique features of the peoples, especially enhancing the great national unity as a background of local economic and cultural promotion.

He also requested the Ethnic Minority Board, Son Dong district and relevant agencies to support the communes in multifaced development.

Previously, Le Anh Duong and the working delegation visited and presented gifts to four typical prestigious persons, four ethnic households, 20 poor families as well as awarded 80 scholarships to ethnic students with outstanding academic achievements in elementary and secondary schools in the two localities.
