Hiep Hoa synchronously invests in infrastructure, expands urban space
BAC GIANG - After more than 3 years of implementing the Urban Development Program, Hiep Hoa district (Bac Giang province) has now basically met the criteria of a fourth class urban area. Thanks to this program, the appearance of the revolutionary countryside has been improved.
In December 2023, the road construction project connecting provincial road 296 with Ring Road 4 was commenced. It is expected to be completed in 18 months stretching nearly 6.4 km with an estimated cost of about 310 billion VND (over 13 million USD).

The route is invested and built in line with third level delta road standard. When completed, it will gradually help complete the transportation network per the urban master plan until 2035 approved by the Provincial People's Committee as well as enhance connectivity to meet people's travel needs and exploitation capacity of the road, promote local socio-economic development.
Previously, in November 2023, the 8.4 km long North-South backbone route with a total investment of 480 billion VND was put into use. It first end starts at residential area No. 3 of Thang town while the other intersects with provincial road 398 in Huong Lam commune. The roadbed width is 33 m.
Besides, the district completed project to renovate and upgrade the provincial road 295 to meet thrid class delta road standards with total cost of about 97 billion VND; build the route connecting National Highway 37 to Hoa Son bridge to Pho Yen city (Thai Nguyen).
In early April 2024, the entire Xuan Cam bridge project was officially completed and put into operation after Soc Son district (Hanoi) organized the technical opening of the road connecting the bridge foot to the Bac Phu intersection of the new Hanoi Thai Nguyen national highway 3.
The above routes play a role in connecting the central area of Hiep Hoa district with Bac Ninh province, Thai Nguyen province, Hanoi city and the district's key industrial and service development-oriented areas, thereby opening up many spaces for developing urban and services.
Nguyen Van Hue, Head of the District's Economic and Infrastructure Division said: "Besides transportation, the district focuses on planning; developing infrastructure of industrial parks and clusters, residential areas and urban areas.
Currently, Hiep Hoa district has focused on planning zoning for siz out of ten urban development planning areas; completed approval of 32 detailed planning projects to build urban areas, residential areas and worker housing areas, typical new urban area on Thang town's ring road; new expanded urban area in the west and southwest of Thang town; Bac Ly Hoa Street urban area; worker housing area of Hoa Phu Industrial Park.
Along with expanding the first phase of Hoa Phu Industrial Park with 85 hectares, the district completed approval of zoning planning for 4 industrial parks including: Hoa Yen, Xuan Cam - Huong Lam, Hoa Phu (phase 2) and Chau Minh - Bac Ly - Huong Lam with a total area of more than 851 hectares...
At this time, according to the assessment of the current status of fourth class urban criteria, Hiep Hoa scored 86.2 out of 100 points. The district expected to complete the project then submit it to the Provincial People's Committee, Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, the Executive Board of the Provincial Party Committee’s Standing Committee and Provincial People's Council in May and propose the Ministry of Construction to recognize Hiep Hoa district as fourth class urban area in next June.
With high focus and determination of the entire political system, Hiep Hoa district is gradually reaching the goal of fourth class urban area. This result will create motivation for the district to become a township in the future as the driving force center for the development of the western part of the province and also bring a new look to the revolutionary countryside.
