Bac Giang wins second overall prize in sports at Culture, Sports and Tourism Festival of Ethnic Groups in Northeast region.
BAC GIANG - The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism on November 4 coordinated with the People's Committee of Lang Son province to organize the closing ceremony of the 11th Culture, Sports and Tourism Festival of the Ethnic Groups in the Northeast region in 2024 in Lang Son city.
The festival opened on November 2 with the theme “Northeast Culture - Identity, Integration and Advancement” attracting the participation of more than 400 artisans, actors, tour guides and athletes from 8 northeastern provinces including Lang Son, Bac Giang, Bac Kan, Cao Bang, Ha Giang, Tuyen Quang, Vinh Phuc and Thai Nguyen.

The event featured various activities such as mass art festival; performance of traditional ethnic costumes; introduction of festival excerpts, cultural rituals; display and promotion of local traditional culture and culinary arts; sports activities and folk games and tourism promotion.
Bac Giang artisans, actors and tour guides brought to the festival a performance of traditional costumes of the San Diu, Nung and Dao Logang ethnic groups; a traditional ritual to call the souls of the San Diu ethnic group in Nam Duong commune (Luc Ngan), folk songs, folk dances and traditional musical instruments.

In the sports section, Bac Giang athletes also competed in two out of four events: tug of war and stick pushing.
The Organizing Committee awarded 23 A prizes, 28 B prizes, 28 C prizes for the competitions; in which the Bac Giang delegation won 2 B prizes with the performance of San Diu, Nung, Dao Logang ethnic costumes and the "Binh Minh Sac Cham" ethnic dance; 8 other performances were awarded C prizes.

Especially in the sports competition, the Bac Giang delegation excellently bagged 12 gold medals, 5 silver medals, 2 bronze medals and won the second overall prize.
The Bac Giang delegation was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Chairman of the People's Committee of Lang Son province for their excellent achievements in participating in the festival.
