Bac Giang’s index of industrial production tops the nation
Particularly, IIP growth rate of some key industrial sectors in the first 11 months is much higher than the same period last year. Beverage production surged 31 percent, followed by medical and pharmaceutical production (18.8 percent), wood processing, timber and bamboo production (18.4 percent), leather production and relating products (16.7 percent) and casual wear production (16.4 percent). Notably, the number of workers in industrial sector increased by 5.9 year on year, up 0.4 percent compared to last month.

According to the General Statistics Office (GSO), IIP growth rate in the 11 months surged in 61 localities compared to the same period last year, in which Bac Giang, Can Tho and Vinh Long are 3 localities with highest IIP growth rates.
Since beginning this year, some key industrial products have seen sharp increased against the same period including beer (34.9 percent), processed seafood and automobiles (17.3 percent), phone components (16.9 percent), petroleum (12.9 percent), chemical paints (12 percent), steel (11.8 percent), motorbike (10.8 percent), leather footwear (9.7 percent) and tobacco (9.1 percent).
IIP in November is estimated to increase by 0.3 percent against last month and 5.3 percent compared to the same period last year. Particularly, processing and manufacturing surged 8.9 percent while it increased only 5.4 percent in the same period of 2021, contributing 6.8 points to the general growth rate.
Electricity production and distribution increased by 7.7 per cent contributing 0.7 points, water supply industry, garbage and wastewater treatment and management jumped 7.1 per cent contributing 0.1 points and the mining industry increased by 6.5 percent contributing 1 point to the general growth rate.
