Chu Dau ceramic factories busy with products for Lunar New Year

There is only one month left until the Lunar New Year (Tet) 2024 at the factories of Chu Dau Ceramic Joint Stock Company in Thai Tan Commune, Nam Sach District, Hai Duong Province, and artisans and workers are rushing to produce many sophisticated and beautiful ceramic products to serve consumers’ demand, during the upcoming Tet holiday.

Chu Dau ceramic products are very diverse in both design and type, with five main product lines, including the traditional product line (such as vases and ornamental plates), the spiritual product line (such as worshipping sets and feng shui items), household products, the enamel line extracted from rice husk ash ensuring 100% food hygiene and safety, and export products.

Chu Dau ceramics have long been considered the pinnacle of Vietnamese ceramics in terms of sophistication and the enamel’s colour and pattern. According to experts, Chu Dau's products date back to the 13th century and were honoured as "products of royal symbols" at the end of the 17th century.

Nguyen Huu Thuc, General Director of Chu Dau Ceramic Joint Stock Company, said there are currently 46 museums in 32 countries around the world displaying ancient Chu Dau ceramic artefacts. Chu Dau Village’s products have reached consumers in more than 20 countries. Chu Dau ceramics have truly become the pride of Vietnamese ceramic arts.
