Digital transformation – Key to developing modern trade, services
BAC GIANG – Over the past time, the Bac Giang provincial Department of Industry and Trade has cooperated with agencies under the Ministry of Industry and Trade and local authorities to organize many training courses aimed at enhancing e-commerce skills for businesses, cooperatives, and business households.
As a result, many producers and business owners have proactively promoted and sold their products on e-commerce platforms more effectively, contributing to the development of modern trade and services in the province.

The Tien Loi bakery, owned by Le Huyen Trang's family in Le Loi ward, Bac Giang city, was established in 1970. In the past, her family only produced various types of cakes sold in local markets and small shops in the province.
When social media boomed, Trang learned to advertise and sell her products on Facebook and Zalo, but the results were not effective due to a lack of skills.
In 2022, she participated in a training course organized by the provincial Department of Industry and Trade on how to produce videos, write advertising posts, comment, and list products on e-commerce platforms such as Postmart, Voso, Sendo, Shopee, as well as on social media platforms like Facebook, Zalo, and TikTok.
After the course, she set up a Tien Loi fan page on Facebook and a TikTok channel, while also hiring staff to engage with customers and finalize orders on e-commerce platforms.
The Tien Loi brand now becomes well-known, and its products are sold smoothly nationwide. On average, the business produces and sells about 3 million packaged cakes each year, generating revenue of 12-15 billion VND (472,400-590,500 USD) and providing stable jobs for 20 workers with monthly incomes ranging from 6 to 9 million VND.
Currently, the facility has four products obtaining 3-star OCOP (One Commune, One Product) certification: baked cake, sticky cake, banh khao (sweet short cake), and meat roll.
The e-commerce platform 24h.vn in Bac Giang province has 410 booths and nearly 1,000 products available for sale, catering to the online shopping needs of local residents. |
Trang shared: "Since we joined e-commerce, the Tien Loi brand has become more recognizable and spread more effectively. We have also received much feedback from customers on the quality and design of our products. This helps us better understand consumer preferences, so we can create new products that meet their needs and bring greater economic value."
The total retail sales of goods and service revenue in the province in the first 11 months of 2024 reached nearly 61 trillion VND, an increase of 13.1% compared to the same period last year. Of which, the retail sales of goods hit more than 42.87 trillion VND and service revenue 18.1 trillion VND.
According to the Department of Industry and Trade, in addition to the Tien Loi bakery, dozens of other businesses, cooperatives, and production facilities in the province, after being guided by the department to participate in e-commerce and digital transformation, have all operated effectively.
