Hanoi planning first Liberation Day fireworks in decade

Vietnam’s capital city of Hanoi will launch a 15-minute fireworks show on Oct. 9 to celebrate Hanoi’s Liberation Day, the first time in 10 years fireworks will mark the occasion.
The Hanoi People’s Committee will allow 30 locations to perform firework shows. The largest venue will be My Dinh Stadium.

Other locations with firework shows include Hoan Kiem, Tay Ho and Hai Ba Trung districts, home to landmarks like the Lac Long Quan Garden, the Thong Nhat Park and the Van Quan Lake.
The last time Hanoi launched fireworks to celebrate its Liberation Day was on Oct. 10, 2014 to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the city's liberation from French colonial rule.
