Chu township and new Luc Ngan district debuted, Orange and Grapefruit Fair, Luc Ngan Tourism Week opened

BAC GIANG - A ceremony to debut 2 new administrative units including Chu township and Luc Ngan district and open the Orange and Grapefruit Fair and Luc Ngan Tourism Week 2024 took place on December 21 evening at the central square of Chu township. 

The event was attended by Nguyen Van Gau, member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, provincial leaders in different periods, leaders of the departments, agencies, a large number of officials, soldiers and people in the locality.

At the ceremony, Ngo Van Nam, permanent Deputy Head of the provincial Party Committee’s Organising Board announced the decisions of the Executive Committee of the provincial Party Committee dated December 15, 2024 on arrangement of the Party Committee of Luc Ngan district and establishment of the Party Committee of Chu township in 2020-2025 period.

Speaking at the event, the provincial Party Chief Nguyen Van Gau stressed the land of Luc Ngan, which boasts rich cultural identity and patriot and revolutionary tradition, has important strategic position during the history of construction and development of Bac Giang province.

Over the past years, the party committee, government and people of all ethnic groups in Luc Ngan district have promoted the tradition of solidarity and made great efforts to overcome difficulties to tap and promote its potentials and advantages for development.

According to the provincial Party Chief, the provincial Party Committee defined in the master plan of Bac Giang province in 2021-2030 period, a vision to 2050 that the province will concentrate on expanding the urban space of Bac Giang city and establishing Viet Yen and Chu townships in 2021-2025 period, as a foundation to build Chu township into a center urban area, creating a driving force for socio-economic development in the northeastern region of the province.

Acknowledging the special significance, the Resolution No 233-NQ/TU dated July 25, 2022 of the Executive Committee of the provincial Party Committee set the targets on arrangement and adjustment of the administrative boundaries of Luc Ngan and Son Dong districts to establish Chu township and new Luc Ngan district.

This is an important milestone, which opens a new era in the history of the land of Luc Ngan.

It is also the premise and driving force for Chu township and the new Luc Ngan district to maximize their potentials and advantages to stimulate development and together with the province to enter the era of national rise.

The provincial leader urged the entire party committee, all-level government and people of all strata of both localities to inherit and promote the gained results and continue to uphold the heroic tradition, keep solidarity and unity, ceaselessly stimulate innovation and creativity, improve leadership capacity and fighting power of the party, exploit all potentials and advantages and strive to build up beautiful, thriving and civilized Chu township and Luc Ngan district.

On this occasion, the delegates pressed the button to open the Orange and Grapefruit Fair, Luc Ngan Tourism Week 2024 and a welcoming art programmed themed “the streamlines of pride, rising desire”.
