The FIFA Football Summit is a high-level forum held regularly with the aim to foster strategic dialogue and strengthen global cooperation in football development.
This year’s summit featured in-depth discussions on key issues, including youth football development, the advancement of women’s football, the enhancement of technical capacity, the implementation of the “Football for Schools” programme and the FIFA Talent Development Scheme, and the planned expansion of the FIFA Women’s World Cup to 48 teams starting from 2031.
In his address at the Summit, FIFA President Gianni Infantino reaffirmed the organisation’s strong commitment to supporting its member federations through the FIFA Forward Development Programme. This initiative focuses on investing in infrastructure, training, and grassroots football.
On the sidelines of the summit, the Vietnamese delegation held meetings with FIFA President Gianni Infantino, senior FIFA officials, and representatives from various member associations. During these meetings, the discussion focused on ways to expand international cooperation and explore specific support opportunities for the development of football in Viet Nam in the near future.
On behalf of the VFF Executive Committee, President Tran Quoc Tuan expressed sincere thanks to President Infantino for the attention and practical support FIFA has provided to Vietnamese football, particularly through development projects under the FIFA Forward programme.
President Tran Quoc Tuan also extended an invitation to President Infantino to soon visit Viet Nam. He further proposed that FIFA consider allowing Viet Nam to host several important international conferences and seminars.
Such events would provide an opportunity for the Viet Nam Football Federation to demonstrate its role as an active and responsible member of the FIFA system, while also serving as a platform to promote the image, people, and culture of Viet Nam to the international community.
