Nearly 100 percent of Bac Giang’s voters give opinions on administrative unit arrangement

BAC GIANG- The localities in northern province of Bac Giang entitled to administrative unit re-arrangement organized asking for voters’ opinions on April 21. Permanent Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairwoman of the provincial People’s Council Le Thi Thu Hong attended the opening ceremony and voted for merging the administrative boundaries of Yen Dung district with Bac Giang city at her residential place in Hoang Van Thu ward, Bac Giang city.

Vu Tri Hai, member of the provincial Party Committee’s Standing Board, Secretary of the municipal Party Committee and Chairman of the People’s Council of Bac Giang city attended the opening ceremony to grasp voters’ opinions on the project of merging the administrative boundaries of Yen Dung district with Bac Giang city and Tran Nguyen Han ward with Ngo Quyen ward to establish the new Ngo Quyen ward.

Permanent Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Le Thi Thu Hong votes for merging the administrative boundaries of Yen Dung district with Bac Giang city.

The voters in Luc Ngan, Yen Dung and Son Dong districts and Bac Giang city gave opinions on establishing 4 new district-level administrative units including Bac Giang city, Chu township, Luc Ngan district and Son Dong district, establishing new wards of Bac Giang city and Chu township and new towns of Luc Ngan district.

Besides, voters in 32 communes, wards and towns in the districts of Hiep Hoa, Lang Giang, Luc Nam, Yen Dung, Tan Yen, Yen The and Bac Giang city were asked for opinions on merging to establish new communal-level administrative units.

Accordingly, 32 communal-level administrative units in the entire province will be re-arranged to establish 15 new ones (a decrease of 17 communal-level administrative units).

According to a quick report by the provincial Department of Home Affairs, the re-arrangement of district and communal-level administrative units received support by majority of people in the province with the poll percentage reaching over 99 percent. Particularly, Luc Ngan district gained highest approval ratings with 99.43 percent in grasping opinions on district-level administrative unit arrangement and urban development. For other contents, the approval voting percentage reached from 91 percent.

After grasping voters’ opinions, the district and communal-level people’s committee will collect the results of voters’ opinions to submit to the same level people’s council enclosed with the draft plan on arrangement of district and communal-level administrative units for approval.

Besides, the provincial Department of Home Affairs will finalize the documentation of the plan on arrangement of district and communal-level administrative units to submit to the provincial Party Committee’s Standing Board and Executive Committee, People’s Committee and People’s Council before submitting to the Ministry of Home Affairs by 30 June 2023.
