2 female trade unionists from Bac Giang rewarded

BAC GIANG- Towards the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Trade Union (July 28 1929-2024), the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour (VGCL) organised an event on 7 and 8 July to meet with female key leaders of provincial and central-level trade unions and praise grassroots-level outstanding female trade unionists for the 3rd time in 2024.

On this occasion, 95 female grassroots-level trade union officials were selected for rewarding by VGCL, who are trade unionists of the companies having from 1,000 trade union members with over 75 percent of female workers

The Central leaders present the Certificate and Logo of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor to Nguyen Thi Thu Phuong.

Particularly, 2 outstanding individuals of Bac Giang provincial Confederation of Labour were honoured including Nguyen Thi Thu Phuong (born in 1984), Head of the Administration and Human Resources department and Head of the women’s action committee of the Trade Union of Hosiden Vietnam Company Limited in Quang Chau industrial park and Nguyen Thi Liem (born in 1987), general manager of the quality control department, Head of the women’s action committee of the Trade Union of Shinsung Vina Company Limited in Song Khe - Noi Hoang industrial park.

Particularly, Nguyen Thi Thu Phuong has promoted the role as a bridge between the company leaders and the trade union executive committee to create harmonious labour relations for mutual development.

The Central leaders award the Certificate and Logo of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor to Nguyen Thi Liem.

From 2019 to 2023, Phuong helped the trade union executive committee to organise 32 activities to care and present gifts for workers. In addition, she proposed break time and separate entrances for pregnant workers.

Nguyen Thi Lien advised the company leaders to give opportunities for all of the officials in charge of women’s affairs to attend training courses, conferences and seminars to share experience in reproductive health care, gender equality and maintaining family happiness. Besides, she helped to timely deal with employees’ legitimate proposals such as repairing conditioner system at the working place and dining room, improving the meal quality, expanding the break rooms and providing more blankets and pillows for workers.
