Bac Giang wins two A prizes at Tay, Nung, Thai ethnic art festival

BAC GIANG - At the 7th Then singing and Tinh lute art festival of the Tay, Nung, and Thai ethnic groups in 2024, the Bac Giang artists and actors won two A prizes, four B prizes, one C prize together with a Certificate of Merit.

The festival was organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism from November 16 to 18 at the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism (Hanoi).

More than 400 artisans and amateur actors of the Tay, Nung and Thai ethnic groups from 14 provinces and cities across the country participated in special performances introducing the art of Then singing and Tinh lute and displaying traditional cultural products of the Tay, Nung and Thai ethnic groups.

The Organizing Committee awarded 20 A prizes, 20 B prizes and 16 C prizes in the Then singing and Tinh lute performance competitions together with five A prizes, five B prizes and two C prizes in the exhibition space competitions, brocade weaving and Tinh lute making performances and culinary display and preparation.

The art group from Bac Giang province brought to the festival four performances, two of which were awarded the A prize, including an ancient Then dancing performed by Meritorious Artist Luc Van Tich, the ritual of worshiping the midwife and offering stars to dispel bad luck and pray for peace performed by Artist Hoang Van Hiep and a dance group.

The performance of ancient Then dancing is awarded the A prize.

Also, Bac Giang introduced and exhibited cuisine with various dishes such as five-color sticky rice, banh coc mo, banh gio, stream fish, bee pupae cooked with sour bamboo shoots...

The remaining performances and competition content were awarded four B prizes and one C prize. The group of artists and actors from Bac Giang was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism for their excellent achievements in participating in the festival.
