Over 23,500 tonnes of lychees were exported, mostly to China with over 23,200 tonnes. The remaining quantity was exported to several countries of Cambodia, Japan, the US, Republic of Korea and European markets.
There are more than 80 trucks carrying Bac Giang lychee daily passing Tan Thanh border gate in Lang Son province via “green zone” to China.
Director of the provincial Department of Industry and Trade Tran Quang Tan said at peak harvest season of previous year, more than 400 lychee trucks got stuck at Tan Thanh border gates so the province is not worried about over 150 lychee trucks which are now waiting everyday at the gate.
In spite of restriction for Covid-19 prevention and control, Chinese authorities committed to clearing all trucks carrying lychee from Vietnam to China within 3 days at the border gate.
Now, the fresh lychee of Bac Giang is exported to China via Tan Thanh border gate. The dried lychee and processed farm produce will be exported to Lao Cai border gate.
