Bac Giang allocates second funding to support storm victims

BAC GIANG – The Relief Mobilization Committee in Bac Giang province has just held a meeting to review and estimate the allocation of the second phase of support from donated funding and materials to overcome the consequences caused by storm No. 3 as well as finalize a number of other important contents under the responsibility of the Provincial Relief Mobilization Committee.

Up to now, the Provincial Relief Fund has received total donation of over 97.6 billion VND (over 4.2 million USD), including 84 billion VND in cash and more than 13.6 billion VND in food and necessities.

Of which, the Central Relief Mobilization Committee supported the province with 50 billion VND while many central ministries, branches, provinces, cities, agencies and units registered to support Bac Giang province such as: Ministry of Public Security (2 billion VND), Hanoi City (5 billion VND), Ba Ria - Vung Tau province (4 billion VND), Lam Dong province (2 billion VND), Khanh Hoa province (1 billion VND), Bac Ninh province (1 billion VND) and Nghe An province (800 million VND) among others.

To promptly allocate mobilized resources to support localities to overcome the aftermath of storm No. 3, on September 18, the Provincial Relief Mobilization Committee allocated 13 billion VND to support the first phase for 8 districts in the province.

Based on the actual level of damage in the localities, the Provincial Relief Mobilization Committee considered the second funding allocation for 9 districts and town in the province affected by storm No. 3 with a total support of 55 billion VND.

The second allocation will prioritize to assist families with deaths, injuries, collapsed houses or damaged roofs. It also supports households that have to relocate due to impacts, are in villages isolated by floods or affected by landslides, etc.
