Bac Giang commends 3 gold medalists at international Olympiad

BAC GIANG - On the afternoon of August 22, the Bac Giang Provincial Party Committee (PPC) and Provincial People's Committee held a meeting to honor students who won prizes at the 2024 International Olympiad.

The event was attended by Nguyen Van Gau, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the PPC; Mai Son, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; representatives of the Department of Education and Training, Bac Giang High School for the Gifted along with many teachers, students and families of prize-winning students.

In the 2024 International Olympiad, the Ministry of Education and Training established 5 teams of Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Informatics. 3 students from Bac Giang High School for the Gifted were selected to the Physics and Chemistry teams and all won Gold Medals.

Particularly, Than The Cong and Truong Phi Hung won Gold Medal at Physics Olympiad while Giap Vu Son Ha won gold medal at Chemistry Olympiad.

Speaking at the event, the provincial Party Chief Nguyen Van Gau congratulated and praised the outstanding achievements of three above mentioned students and the great contributions of the staff and teachers of Bac Giang High School for the Gifted, especially Meritorious Teacher Nguyen Van Doa and teacher Vuong Truong Son who contributed to the miracle of Bac Giang students at the 2024 International Olympiad.

The provincial leaders Nguyen Van Gau and Mai Son present cash reward and flowers to congratulate 2 teachers and 3 students who win gold medals at the 2024 International Olympiad.

The prestigious gold medals were not only the honor of Bac Giang province but also the pride of the country's education sector.

The PPC Secretary Nguyen Van Gau affirmed that this is a process of hard work and training over a long period of time. The students have practiced their learning methods and studied seriously.

This also proved the continuous effort of the staff and teachers of Bac Giang High School for the Gifted, especially the efforts and dedication of the teachers who directly taught and accompanied the students on the path to success.

Along with that was the importance and special contribution from the team of professors, doctors and excellent teachers of Vietnam who participated in training, teaching and nurturing the students.

The provincial leader emphasized that in recent years, Bac Giang province has attached great importance to the development of education, training, improving people's knowledge, training human resources and nurturing talents.

He hoped that the Department of Education and Training would direct Bac Giang High School for the Gifted to continue spreading the spirit of learning, desire and passion for success to generations of students so that in the future Bac Giang education will always affirm its position in leading quality training.

Local students were encouraged to strive more, be strong, confident, accumulate knowledge and experience to succeed in the future so as to bring glory to the Fatherland, and contribute their intelligence to building their homeland.

Construction Corporation No. 1 sponsors the Than Nhan Trung Scholarship Fund with 2 billion VND.

With outstanding achievements, from the Than Nhan Trung Scholarship Fund managed by Bac Giang High School for the Gifted, the provincial Party Chief Nguyen Van Gau and Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Mai Son awarded cash reward and presented flowers to congratulate 3 students (300 million VND for each), to Meritorious Teacher Nguyen Van Doa (280 million VND) and teacher Vuong Truong Son (100 million VND).

On this occasion, Construction Corporation No. 1 sponsored the Than Nhan Trung Scholarship Fund with 2 billion VND.
