Fuhong Precision Component (Bac Giang) Co., Ltd. of Foxconn Technology Group based in the Dinh Tram Industrial Park is a wholly foreign-invested enterprise specialising in manufacturing electronic components such as headphones, computers, computer peripherals, and wireless transmitters for Samsung and Apple. Right in the first month of 2024, the company exported a number of new batches to partners.
The company’s representative said that before carrying out export activities, businesses need to complete the customs clearance declaration form on the portal of the customs sector. After receiving the declarations, the sub-department processes them online and this process takes only 10-15 minutes, as compared to 3-6 hours to fill the paper form previously, thus saving costs and time for businesses. Zhuo Xianhong, General Director of the company, said that thanks to the customs sector’s facilitation, last year the company shipped batches of goods to partners on time under the contracts. In 2023, it completed thousands of customs clearance declarations, with an export turnover of more than 1.2 billion USD.
Similarly, Luxshare - ICI (Vietnam) Co., Ltd. in the Van Trung Industrial Park, a Chinese-invested enterprise, completed nearly 2,000 customs clearance declarations online at the customs sub-department in January.
In 2023, at the sub-department, there were 1,347 enterprises filling customs clearance declarations to export and import goods. The total export turnover value of the province reached more than 27.4 billion USD, an increase of 22.3% compared to the previous year, ranking 6th in the country.
With the motto "professional, transparent, effective", in recent years, the sub-department has focused on reforming administrative procedures to create favourable conditions for businesses in performing customs clearance of goods in line with regulations. Notably, the unit has effectively operated the automatic customs clearance system, online public services, and the national one-stop-shop mechanism to support businesses in carrying out tax and customs procedures as quickly as possible.
It has organised some dialogues with businesses to promptly remove problems and difficulties facing them in implementing customs clearance procedures.
By synchronously implementing solutions, in 2023, the sub-department received and processed nearly 490,000 customs clearance declarations for businesses, an increase of 21.8% compared to the previous year, of which export declarations hit nearly 214,000. In the process of processing documents for businesses, the unit has cut the time for handling administrative procedures by about 30%. Currently, the customs sector is building a smart customs model, which is expected to be completed and become operational by 2025.
