Updated: 06:50, 17/05/2025

BAC GIANG - Grasping new trends and leveraging the province’s strategic geographical location, Bac Giang has been actively investing in the development of logistics services. Through continuous efforts by the province and investors, Bac Giang is now home to a modern logistics centre, marking its name on the national logistics map.

After nearly a month of operation, the Bac Giang International Logistics Centre, developed by Bac Giang International Logistics Co., Ltd., has attracted significant attention from investors. Currently, the storage facilities are operating at high capacity.

According to a company representative, the project has been leased by several international corporations as a transit hub for goods. Export-import procedures are streamlined, supporting investors.

In its initial stage, the project is operated in an organised and stable manner, providing various benefits to businesses, such as comprehensive warehousing infrastructure with optimal logistics solutions, reduced customs clearance time, maximum support for import-export activities, and cost savings.

The Bac Giang International Logistics Centre covers an area of 67 hectares, with a total investment of nearly 4.2 trillion VND (165 million USD).

The project includes multi-functional warehouses, customs-controlled warehouses, bonded warehouses, e-commerce storage, and automated warehouses, integrated with end-to-end logistics solutions.

The launch of the centre is of strategic significance, affirming the province’s strong commitment to developing modern logistics infrastructure, boosting trade, industry, and international integration.

The project operation has placed Bac Giang on the map of large-scale logistics hubs with modern infrastructure in northern Vietnam.

It has unlocked the province’s potential in the logistics sector—considered the "lifeblood" of the economy—and opened up new growth drivers, enhanced competitiveness, and promoted socio-economic development.

Bac Giang is strategically located in the northeastern region of Hanoi, serving as a gateway between major economic zones. It lies along key transportation routes such as the Hanoi–Lang Son Expressway and the international railway network, and is near major border gates and seaports.

Tran Thanh Hai, Deputy Director of the Import and Export Department under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, stated: “The launch of the Bac Giang International Logistics Centre is a timely step toward synchronising and promoting the development of the province’s logistics services. We expect the centre and logistics enterprises operating here to take the lead in embracing the green logistics trend, such as using clean energy, reducing carbon emissions, and adopting resource-saving technologies. This not only contributes to the government’s goal of net-zero emissions by 2050 and reflects social and environmental responsibility, but also provides a competitive advantage in the logistics service market.”

Transport vehicles are ready to serve customers using logistics services.

To prepare for a new wave of investment, Bac Giang has planned 29 industrial zones covering 7,000 hectares and 63 industrial clusters spanning over 3,000 hectares. Currently, 17 industrial zones have been established.

The province is expediting administrative procedures to accelerate investment progress in these zones and clusters, improving the business and investment environment, and thereby facilitating logistics development.

According to the provincial Master Plan for the 2021–2030 period, with a vision to 2050, the province aims to develop eight integrated logistics centers with a total area of nearly 500 hectares, three inland container depots (ICDs), and 33 inland waterway ports.
