BAC GIANG - On May 7, the People’s Committee of Son Dong District (Bac Giang province) held a ceremony to announce the inclusion of the An Chau Traditional Boat Racing Festival in the National Intangible Cultural Heritage list, as approved by the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism. The event also marked the opening of the 2025 edition of the festival.

Dating back to the 15th century, the An Chau Boat Racing Festival is held annually on the 10th day of the fourth lunar month at Bich Tri Temple and on the An Chau stretch of the Luc Nam River.

Chairman of the district People's Committee Hoang Van Trong speaks at the ceremony.

The festival is a spiritual and cultural tradition through which local residents pray for favorable weather, good harvests, and community well-being.
