Updated: 10:51, 08/05/2025

BAC GIANG - On May 7, Chairman of the Bac Giang Provincial People’s Committee (PPC) Nguyen Viet Oanh chaired the province’s regular April meeting.

According to the provincial report, the socio-economic situation in April and the first four months of 2025 continued to show positive signs.

PPC Chairman Nguyen Viet Oanh chairs the meeting.

Industrial production maintained a steady growth pace. Agricultural activities progressed on schedule with healthy crop development.

Service, trade and import-export activities remained stable. Many urgent and critical tasks related to economic growth and public investment disbursement were strengthened. Organizational restructuring was vigorously implemented in line with central government directives.

During the meeting, participants focused on analyzing the potential impacts of U.S. tax policies on local production and consumption; the province’s 2025 growth scenario; budget revenue forecasts for the remainder of the year and progress in consolidating government offices following recent administrative restructuring.

In his concluding remarks, PPC Chairman Oanh acknowledged ongoing socio-economic challenges despite recent achievements. He urged all sectors and localities to proactively propose decisive solutions to accomplish key targets for the entire term.

Emphasis was placed on the restructuring of administrative units at provincial and commune levels and effective implementation of the Central Committee’s Conclusion No. 123-KL/TW on socio-economic development goals for 2025, aiming for a growth rate of at least 8%.

The province will also focus on supporting businesses, resolving production and trade bottlenecks as well as collaborating with customs to promote exports, especially in response to U.S. tariff policies.

Accelerating land clearance and investment procedures for industrial parks and clusters will help create a clean land fund to attract investment. Public investment disbursement, especially for new projects, is also a top priority.

The Department of Agriculture and Environment was tasked with guiding lychee growers to meet export standards and coordinating with the Department of Industry and Trade to promote lychee consumption in 2025.

The PPC Permanent Vice Chairman Mai Son voices at the meeting.

The Department of Construction will advise on managing and repurposing government buildings after administrative consolidation, ensuring cost-effective and lawful use, with priority given to healthcare and education needs.

Departments were also assigned to evaluate the 2024 PCI, PAPI, PAR Index and SIPAS results and formulate plans to maintain strengths and address weaker indicators.

At the meeting, participants also gave feedback on several draft proposals.
