Bac Giang ensures sufficient power supply for production and daily life
BAC GIANG - The weather condition in 2025 is forecast to be complex and unpredictable with multiple extreme heat waves. Additionally, the national electricity demand is expected to grow by up to 12.2% (compared to a 10.1% increase in 2024 against 2023), posing a high risk of power supply disruptions during peak hours.
The northern province of Bac Giang with rapid industrial development will experience a sharp increase in power demand; thus, it is more urgent to ensure sufficient power supply for production and daily life.

In order to cope with extreme heat waves and implement the Prime Minister’s directive on proactive solutions to ensure adequate power supply for production, business, and people's living during the peak period in 2025 and the 2026–2030 period, Bac Giang is currently carrying out a series of power projects.
The provincial Department of Industry and Trade (DOIT) has closely followed up the projects and accelerated the progress.
According to DOIT’s Vice Director Nguyen Duc Hoan, the Department will organise working sessions and site inspections to timely handle difficulties and obstacles within its authority.
Besides, it will collaborate with related agencies and localities to facilitate development of roof-top solar energy in accordance with regulations.
In line with implementation of power projects, the Department warned enterprises, especially those who have big power demand to use electricity economically and effectively.
According to Bac Giang Electricity Company, the company worked with their customers to sign demand response agreements while supervising power usage to optimally adjust operation plans, ensuring system safety and stable power supply.
Sharing with the common policy, a number of businesses have developed production plans that align with appropriate power capacity and load curves and minimize operation of high-energy-consuming equipment during peak hours.
Besides, they signed agreements and implemented demand response measures with Bac Giang Electricity Company while proactively preparing backup equipment in case of power shortages in the national grid.
With synchronous implementation of the above solutions, the province will ensure power supply for production and people’s living and minimize incidents and disruptions in power supply.
