“Peace is Truly Beautiful” movement spreads powerfully among younger generation

Updated: 10:55, 25/04/2025

Just three days after its launch, the peak campaign commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 – April 30, 2025), initiated by the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union under the theme “Peace is Truly Beautiful”, has rapidly and widely gained traction. As of the morning of April 24, the programme had garnered over 111 million views on TikTok alone.

This peak communication campaign is more than just a slogan — it is a declaration of the value of peace, a profound tribute to a heroic past, and a powerful source of inspiration for the present and future.

Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union members and students simultaneously formed the shape of the national flag on this occasion.

It transforms these noble values into tangible, relatable, practical emotions and actions in everyday life.

According to the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, the campaign comprises a diverse and creative series of activities implemented synchronously across multiple platforms.

It encourages the younger generation, especially Gen Z, to produce digital content.

Both citizens and tourists have been impressed by the exhibition commemorating 50 years since the Liberation of the South and National Reunification.

In Hai Duong Province, youth union members, young teachers and volunteers are actively taking part in the “Peace Is Truly Beautiful” campaign.

Specifically, young people are using the “Peace Is Truly Beautiful” CapCut video template issued by the Youth Union to share stories about peace, gratitude, and national pride from unique and creative perspectives.

On this occasion, the Youth Union is also promoting gratitude activities such as organising visits and presenting gifts to Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, Heroes of the People’s Armed Forces, families of martyrs, war invalids, wounded veterans, people with meritorious service to the revolution, veterans and former youth volunteers facing hardships across the country.

On the evening of April 28, candlelighting ceremonies will take place simultaneously across cemeteries, memorials, and historical sites nationwide in tribute to fallen heroes. These activities will feature QR codes for young people to post digital commemorative candles online.
