Artistic-political show “North-South Promise” celebrates national reunification
A grand artistic-political event titled “Hen uoc Bac – Nam” (North-South Promise) was held at My Dinh National Stadium in Hanoi on the evening of April 22 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification.
The event was hosted by the Party Central Committee (PCC)’s Commission for Information, Education and Mass Mobilisation in coordination with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the General Political Department of the Vietnam People’s Army, and the Hanoi People’s Committee.

Attendees included high-ranking leaders such as Politburo members: Nguyen Trong Nghia, Secretary of the PCC and Head of the PCC’s Commission for Information, Education and Mass Mobilisation; General Phan Van Giang, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, and Minister of Defence; Senior Lieutenant General Trinh Van Quyet, Secretary of the PCC and Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army; among others.
The massive 2,700 m2 stage, designed to symbolise the divided North and South linked by the Hien Luong Bridge over the Ben Hai River, stood as a symbolic centrepiece in the event.
Highlights included real T-54 tanks, 3D mapping projected onto a water screen — an unprecedented element in Vietnamese performance, and appearances by stars such as Tu Long, Hoang Tung, Vu Thang Loi, and Hoa Minzy.
The show served as a powerful tribute to generations who sacrificed for Vietnam’s independence, embodying a vow of unity and resilience.
It called on the nation to continue striving for a strong, unified future — an enduring promise of the Vietnamese spirit.
