Bac Giang fosters cooperation with Japan’s Mie prefecture

BAC GIANG- Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee (PPC) Nguyen Viet Oanh on April 14 received a working delegation of Japan’s Mie prefecture led by Noguchi Tadashi, prefectural Assembly member and Chairman of the Japan –Vietnam Friendship Association of Mie prefecture.

At the meeting, PPC Chairman Nguyen Viet Oanh expressed his pleasure to welcome the working delegation to Bac Giang.

He informed Bac Giang’s economic growth has been in top provinces in Vietnam in recent years thanks to high determination in governance and leadership. Particularly, the economic scale and potential have been dramatically improved when the people’s quality of life has been heightened.

Currently, Japan is the 4th biggest investor in the province in terms of the number of projects and ranked 5th in total registered investment capital among 30 countries and territories investing in Bac Giang.

There are a number of outstanding Japanese projects including the electronic component factory of Hosiden Vietnam Company Limited with a total investment of 115.9 million USD, the project of Nichirin Vietnam Company Limited manufacturing and assembling pipes and wires for automobiles, motorcycles, and other types of pipes worth total 42 million USD in Quang Chau industrial park and the VSun factory of Vietnam Sunergy Joint Stock Company manufacturing, processing and assembling solar panels with a total investment of 51.3 million USD in Dinh Tram industrial park.

In line with industrial and service development, Bac Giang’s agriculture is also developed with many high-quality products, of which lychee has been accepted by Japanese market.

Specially, one participant of the working delegation is a Mie-based enterprise that is preparing to launch a project in Bac Giang. This marks a promising beginning and an important foundation for encouraging businesses from Mie prefecture to take an interest in Bac Giang.

Bac Giang province is committed to accompanying and creating favourable conditions for businesses from Mie prefecture and Japan to invest in the province.

PPC Chairman expected the working delegation to support the province in promoting the potentials, advantages and incentive policies for investment attraction in economic, commercial, tourism and service sectors to Japanese partner.

Besides, the delegation was requested to support Bac Giang province in trade promotion, market expansion and boosting export of its products to Japan.

Speaking at the meeting, Noguchi Tadashi stressed Bac Giang province and Mie prefecture share many similarities especially in natural area and population, which are convenient for forestry, fishery and fruit cultivation.

Besides, Mie prefecture is known for its development of high technology, biotechnology, and post-harvest preservation technologies in agriculture.

Currently, 25 enterprises from Mie prefecture are investing in Vietnam. The working delegation is very interested in the current investment climate and market of Bac Giang.

Representatives of Mie-based enterprises hoped Noguchi Tadashi will serve as a bridge to the Bac Giang provincial government, thereby fostering stronger connections for investment, business operations, as well as cooperation in the fields of culture and tourism.

PPC Chairman Nguyen Viet Oanh and Mie’s prefectural Assembly member Noguchi Tadashi affirmed to become bridges to help enterprises from Mie prefecture to seek investment opportunities and understand more about cultural features of Bac Giang province.

On this occasion, both sides gave each other souvenir and signature agricultural products of each province.
