Vietnam secures five gold medals at 2025 Thailand Kickboxing World Cup
Vietnam’s national kickboxing team secured 19 medals, including five gold medals, at the Thailand Kickboxing World Cup 2025, which concluded in Bangkok on April 12.
The gold medals were won by Hoang Thi Thuy Giang, who earned both the women's 50-kilogram light contact and women's 50-kilogram kick light events; Nguyen Thi Ngoc Han in women's 56-kilogram full contact; Phung Hong Tham in women's 65-kilogram light contact; and Hoang Trong Vy in the men's 45-kilogram low kick event.

The Vietnamese fighters also brought home eight silver and six bronze medals at the tournament.
Taking place from April 7 to 12, the 1st Kickboxing World Cup of 2025 brought together 674 athletes from 45 countries and territories, making it one of the largest-scale events in the history of the sport.
Sharing insights on the significance of the tournament, Vu Duc Thinh, the head of the Vietnamese delegation to the event, emphasised that the event not only helps athletes gain more experience in international competitions but also serves as an opportunity to review the Vietnamese team ahead of the 33rd SEA Games, which are scheduled to take place later this year, also in Thailand.
Former Vietnam coach Park Hang-seo and former Indonesia coach Shin Tae-yong have been appointed vice presidents of the Korean Football Association (KFA) for the 2025–2028 term.
