Vietnam's railway sector elevates passenger experience with premium services
Vietnam's railway sector is making efforts to enhance passenger service quality by introducing premium, luxury train tours that will operate regularly throughout 2025.
According to Mr Dang Sy Manh, Chairman of the Members’ Council of Vietnam Railways Corporation (VNR), the company has recently launched a five-star train service for tourists travelling between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

Featuring five-star interior spaces and dedicated butlers in each carriage, the service offers an unprecedented travel experience for passengers on the cross-country journey.
The trains have maintained a high occupancy rate, with strong demand from domestic and international tourists booking the tours in advance. These premium journeys are scheduled to depart regularly throughout the year.
At present, major travel companies such as Vietravel, Vietluxtour, Golden Smile Travel, and BenThanh Tourist are also offering luxury train tours targeted at affluent, high-spending customers, including executives from large corporations and conglomerates.
Alongside expanding travel services and connecting destinations throughout the journey, Vietnam Railways is also working to enhance the quality of onboard meals by offering mid- and high-end dining options.
On 8 April, at Saigon Railway Station (District 3, Ho Chi Minh City), VNR and TNI King Coffee Co., Ltd. signed a strategic cooperation agreement to introduce a “service ecosystem” for food, beverages, and retail, better-serving passengers and tourists.
Ms Le Hoang Diep Thao, CEO of TNI King Coffee, noted that Vietnam boasts a rich variety of distinctive food and beverages loved by domestic and international travellers.
Therefore, incorporating familiar and authentic Vietnamese dishes – such as banh mi cha lua (Vietnamese sandwich with pork roll), xoi man (savoury sticky rice), and conveniently packaged versions of bun and pho – not only enriches the onboard service experience but also helps promote Vietnamese culinary culture to domestic and foreign travellers.
