Nguyen Thi Oanh becomes champion of VTV Phu Quoc marathon 2025
BAC GIANG- The VTV Phu Quoc marathon 2025 has been jointly organised by Vietnam Television, Kien Giang's Culture and Sports Department, Vietnam Athletics Federation, Lions Entertainment JSC and Vietcontent. The tournament lured 5,000 athletes competing in 4 categories including 5km,10km races, half-marathon (21.0975km) and full marathon (42.195km) with the total award of 650 million VND (25,023 USD).
The SEA Games champion Nguyen Thi Oanh (in the photo) triumphed the half-marathon track. She was followed by Tran Ny with 16 minutes later than her. Nguyen Trung Cuong won the men’s category with 9 seconds faster than the runner up.

The national defending champion Hoang Nguyen Thanh had an impressive sprint performance to claim his first place at the finish line in a time of 2 hours 38 minutes 43 seconds.
This achievement of Hoang Nguyen Thanh was not as good as his record at the 66th national marathon and Tien Phong long-distance running championship taking place on March 30 in Quang Tri province with 2 hours 32 minutes and 20 seconds.
Meanwhile, Bui Thi Thu Ha won the women’s category in a time of 3 hours 3 minutes 20 seconds, failing to reach the national record to earn 50 million VND (1,925 USD) bonus.
Luong Duc Phuoc faced little challenge to top the podium in the men’s 10km race at VTV Phu Quoc marathon 2025.
BAC GIANG - On March 30, the 66th National Marathon and Long Distance Championship 2025 of Tien Phong Newspaper took place in Dong Ha City (Quang Tri province) with 7,000 participating athletes. Tien Phong Marathon is a major annual tournament, gathering outstanding runners of Vietnamese athletics in medium and long distances.
