The running race “Conquering Dong Cao plateau” attracted nearly 900 runners competing in 3 categories including 8km distance for men and women, 3km for male and 2km for female secondary students.

Besides, it drew runners from Bac Ninh province, Hai Phong city and Bac Giang city.

The tournament featured 2 race tracks starting from Kha village stadium to Na Hin community-based tourist site and Dong Cao mountain peak, which is 1,000 metres above the sea level.

On the winding tracks with increasing slopes, the organiser arranged 6 aid stations, medical staff and motor bikes to timely support runners. Remarkably, the tournament attracted a number of older runners.

In the 8km men’s and women’s categories, gold medals came to 2 runners from An Chau town including Do Thanh Hao with an achievement of 40 minutes and 26 seconds and Do Thi Huong with 53 minutes and 34 seconds.

In the 3km and 2km categories for secondary students, gold medals were awarded to Tran Ngoc Giang from Le Vien secondary school and Ngoc Khanh Huyen from Long Son secondary school.

The organising board awards gold, silver and bronze medals to the runners competing in the 8km race.

Besides, the organiser awarded silver, bronze and commemorative medals to other outstanding athletes and rewarded the oldest participants.

This is the 2nd year Son Dong district hosted the running race “Conquering Dong Cao plateau”, aiming to promote tourism of Dong Cao plateau and Na Hin village community-based tourist site in Van Son commune, attract tourists and create new local tourism product while encouraging a healthy lifestyle inspired by the great example of Uncle Ho.
